| The Mental Health Association in Michigan (MHAM) is a voluntary membership citizens' organization representing a broad base of people working together as an advocate for the mentally ill. Affiliated with Mental Health America, MHAM incorporated as a nonprofit entity under Michigan statutes in 1936 and holds 501(c)(3) tax exempt non-profit status under the Federal Department of Internal Revenue. We are licensed to solicit charitable funds in accordance with Michigan law. The membership meets annually and elects a Board of Directors, which in turn elect its officers and executive committee. The Association maintains a strictly bipartisan posture in its social action and public policy efforts. |
